Apiaceae

10-Schizocarps

[FMP-field: image]

The fruit of the Apiaceae is a small schizocarp that splits apart into 2 mericarps. Connecting the schizocarps is the carophore. Each mericarp contains oil tubes. This example is Zizia aurea, Golden Alexanders.
