35-Fruits of Tamarindus indica

[FMP-field: image]

The tamarind (Tamarindus indica) has been cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions for a long time; perhaps it is native to India. The brown pulp inside the fruits is eaten fresh and used as an ingredient in refreshing drinks, curries, chutneys, and other seasonings, such as Worcestershire sauce.
