The flowers of evening primrose (Oenothera species) are complete and perfect, they are 4-merous, and they are actinomorphic. The bases of the calyx, corolla, and androecium are adnate to form a hypanthium. The 4 carpels are connate into a syncarpous gynoecium, and the ovary is inferior (hard to see in these photographs). |
