A "hesperidium" is a special kind of fruit produced by the citrus family (Rutaceae). It similar to a berry in that it is fleshy, however, a hesperidium has a leathery rind with numerous septa. Most of the juice is contained in pulp vesicles, which are modified hairs.
Oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, lemons, limes, and kumquats are examples of hesperidia.
