7-Flower to fruit, Fragaria

The whole strawberry that we are familiar with is actually this enlarged fleshy receptacle.

At the base of the strawberry you can still see the persistent sepals and even the shriveled up stamens.

Scattered on the surface of the strawberry are the actual fruits, the tiny achenes.

If you look closely, you can still see the styles attached to some of these achenes.
