[FMP-field: image]

There are about 10 species in the genus Hamamelis. Two occur in eastern North America, H. virginiana (flowers in the fall) and H. vernalis (flowers in the spring). This particular plant is a hybrid between a Chinese species and a Japanese species; it is known as Hamamelis x intermedia cv. Arnold Promise.
