Liliaceae

10-Erythronium albidum

[FMP-field: image]

The genus Erythronium includes two species that are common spring woodland wildflowers in Illinois. This is Erythronium albidum, white trout-lily (sometimes called dog-tooth violet). Note the typical Liliaceae flower with 3 sepals and 3 petals that are similar. The other woodland species is E. americanum, which has yellow flowers.
