The Poaceae, grass family, is a very large family, with about 650 genera and 9,000 species. It is distributed worldwide. The name "Gramineae" is also used for the grass family. The Poaceae is divided into a number of subfamilies and tribes; however, for the purposes of PB260, you do NOT need to know these! |
