44-Compound leaf

[FMP-field: image]

A compound leaf is a leaf with more than one blade per petiole or leaf base.

In a compound leaf, each blade is called a leaflet, and each stalk of a leaflet is a petiolule.

The photo shows a pinnately compound leaf of the red-leaved rose, Rosa rubrifolia.
