10-Physostegia gynoecium

[FMP-field: image]

A close-up of the base of a flower of Physostegia virginiana showing the large yellow nectar gland and the gynobasic style. The deeply 4-lobed ovary is superior. While the ovary has 4 lobes, it comes from only 2 carpels.
