Malvaceae

3-Iliamna shrub

[FMP-field: image]

Most members of the Malvaceae are herbaceous or shrubs; only a few are trees. The leaves are often palmately lobed. Stellate hairs are common in the Malvaceae, as is mucilaginous sap. This is Iliamna remota, the Kankakee Mallow, which is one of only two species of flowering plants endemic to Illinois (the other one is extinct).
