The fruits of sweet gum (Liquidambar stryaciflua) of the Hamamelidaceae are also multiple fruits, coming from many different flowers.

Male and female inflorescences are produced on the same tree, hence the trees are monoecious, as seen on the left. The female inflorescence is a round cluster of many flowers. Each flower matures into a capsule, and these many capsules together form the mature multiple fruit seen on the right.
