Polygonaceae

3-Rumex herbaceous habit

[FMP-field: image]

Most members of the Polygonaceae are herbaceous plants, either perennial or annual. Some members are vines or lianas, and others are tropical trees and shrubs. The image here is of a species of Rumex, dock, a herbaceous plant that is growing in a wetland. NOTE: The red pigments in the Polygonaceae are anthocyanins, not betalains.
